Emission Reduction Planning
Once emissions are calculated, the next step is a plan for reducing them. We analyse hotspots, develop reduction scenarios, and help set targets.
Why reduction planning needs to be done properly
Carbon accounting without a reduction pathway is incomplete. Accounting tells you the current state — reduction planning tells you what to do about it.
A well-designed reduction plan is not a wish list. It is based on hotspot analysis that shows where the largest emissions occur and where actions have the most impact.
Who this is for
Companies with completed carbon accounting that want to move to action; organisations setting climate targets (e.g. preparing for SBTi); companies whose management or board requires a clear roadmap; companies whose investors or customers ask about reduction targets.
What reduction planning includes
Hotspot analysis — we identify where emissions actually come from and which categories are most significant. Scope 3 often contains surprises.
Reduction scenarios — we develop 2–3 scenarios with different ambition levels and cost structures.
Target setting — we help select a target level that is credible, measurable, and aligned with SBTi or another framework if needed.
Action roadmap — concrete actions and accountabilities, not just a list of possibilities.
What you get
- Emissions hotspot analysis for action prioritisation
- 2–3 reduction pathways with cost estimates
- Target-setting support (SBTi preparation if needed)
- Action roadmap in a trackable format
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a completed calculation before reduction planning?
Yes. Reduction planning requires quality accounting as a foundation. If accounting is missing or incomplete, we start there.
Can NGS also implement the reductions?
We are not an energy or process consultant. We help prioritise and plan — actual implementation happens with domain experts or internal teams.
