LCA and EPD

Life Cycle Assessment and Environmental Product Declaration for the construction, industrial, and manufacturing sectors. Third-party verified result.

What LCA and EPD mean

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) evaluates the environmental impacts of a product, material, or process across its full lifecycle — from raw material extraction through manufacturing, use, and end-of-life. The standard is ISO 14040/44.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party verified document presenting LCA results in a standardised format. EPDs are increasingly required in construction projects, public procurement, and international trade.

Who this is for

Building material and product manufacturers from whom EPDs are requested; developers and designers needing material comparison data; companies supporting product development with environmental data; organisations with LEED, BREEAM, or equivalent certification goals.

How NGS does it

We conduct the LCA per ISO 14040/44. For EPDs, we work with accredited verification bodies to ensure the result meets international requirements and is accepted in relevant databases such as EPD International or RTS EPD.

What you get

  • ISO 14040/44 LCA report
  • EPD document (third-party verified if required)
  • Hotspot analysis showing where most environmental impacts occur
  • Summary for communication and tenders

Frequently asked questions

Where is an EPD required?
