Client story

A parking company wanted emissions data through participation, and got it

EuroPark carried out Scope 1–2 carbon accounting through participatory workshops and found the clearest path toward electrification.

“NGS led the process with professionalism and kept us involved at every stage.”

Heidi Lehtinen, EuroPark

EuroPark is one of the leading parking service companies in the Nordics. The company’s business is directly linked to the mobility transition: the spread of electric vehicles and changes in how people move are concrete realities in EuroPark’s everyday operations.

Starting point

EuroPark wanted to understand their own operational emissions and build a foundation for emissions reduction work. Investment decisions related to electrification in particular require knowing where emissions are generated most.

The project’s distinctive feature was a participatory approach: EuroPark wanted to carry out the process so that the people responsible for different functions were involved, not just management.

What was done

NGS carried out the carbon accounting at Scope 1–2 level. The project included participatory workshops where emission sources were mapped together with EuroPark’s team. This approach ensured that knowledge stays within the company and carbon accounting doesn’t remain an outsider’s number exercise.

The accounting concretely showed the potential of electrification: where charging infrastructure has the most impact, and on what timeline electric solutions will shorten the carbon footprint.

Result

EuroPark received a clear picture of their Scope 1–2 emissions and practical recommendations for prioritising emissions reductions. The participatory process ensured that knowledge has been embedded in the organisation, not just in a report.
